At the Step Up Youth Initiative, we believe that leadership is a relay race—a continuous passing of the torch to keep the flame of progress burning. Today, we celebrate a monumental moment in that journey for the Uganda Youth Coalition for SDGs.
As proud founding members, we congratulate our fellow founder, Dopplor Technology, and its CEO, Mr. Donald Waruhanga, on his election as the 4th Elected President.
Donald does not step into this role unprepared. He has served diligently as General Secretary and then as Vice President, working closely with every former President—from the interim leadership to the transformational tenure of Her Excellency Aminah Nassali. He has been mentored through service, absorbing the wisdom of those who came before him. We are confident that he is ready to carry the mantle
The Uganda Youth Coalition For SDGs is not just a gathering of young people; it is a national engine for development. Strategically Mentored by the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator, hosted by the SDGs Secretariat (Office of the Prime Minister), and supported by various partners, this Coalition bridges the gap between “real players” and young innovators. It brings decision-makers close to the youth, and youth close to the decision-makers.
Under Donald’s leadership, we are confident the Coalition will fulfill its core mandate: accelerating meaningful youth participation in the SDGs, mirroring our National Priorities, Vision 2040, and the National Development Plan (NDP).
Interim & Founding President.
The Visionary. As CEO of Diacente Group, Solomon led the ideological grounding of the Coalition. He is the one who planted the seed, laying the strong ethical and structural foundation upon which we all stand today.
First Elected President.
The Architect. As Executive Director of Youth Go Green, Edwin took the vision and gave it form. He led the critical work of legal registration and structuring, solidifying the Coalition’s credibility with partners and transforming a movement into an institution.
The Expander.
As CEO of Agro Fresh, Laban drove our growth. He innovated new structures, significantly broadened our membership base, and intensified the Coalition’s visibility, ensuring that the youth agenda could not be ignored.
The Global Advocate.
Aminah took the Coalition beyond our borders. She secured regional recognition at the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development and branded the Uganda Youth Coalition For SDGs as an indispensable player in Uganda’s development agenda. Her leadership deepened trust and championed the meaningful participation of young women.
Your Excellency, the task ahead is significant, but you do not walk alone, Step Up Youth Initiative reaffirms our steady membership and support. We are ready to deploy our Strength from Policy advocacy data to our Economic Resilience models —to support your administration.
We believed in the vision at the start. We believe in your leadership now.
Sincerely,
