Testimonies from Previous participants
"Being part of the Women in Agribusiness Summit and Expo was a game-changer for me. Growing up in a rural village, I saw the struggles of my aunts, mother, and neighbors to meet basic family needs. Opportunities for recognition seemed limited to cities and TV.
When presented with the chance to showcase and pitch our business at the summit, I initially hesitated. But together with my fellow young women at Kalaamugosi Women's Empowerment, we decided to take a chance and represent our work. Many of them had never even been to the city before!
The impact has been phenomenal. Since participating in the summit, Kalaamugosi Women's Empowerment received a significant boost of over 20 million Ugandan shillings from MTN Uganda and we were distinguished as one of the 50 African innovators by the African Leadership Network. More so, we even received presidential recognition and an award on International Women's Day for our contribution to rural women's empowerment.
The summit empowered me to believe that success is possible, even for a young woman in a rural village. It connected us with resources and recognition – a dream come true for Kalaamugosi Women's Empowerment!"
