Amplifying Global Action
Step Up Youth Initiative is proud to be a member of the Action for Sustainable Development (A4SD), a powerful global movement of over 200 organizations. A4SD brings together civil society actors from all corners of the world, united in their commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
A Global Force for Change
Emerging from the Action2015 movement, A4SD leverages the collective strength of its members to:
- Mobilize Civil Society: A4SD empowers civil society organizations around the world to advocate for sustainable development and hold leaders accountable for their commitments.
- Champion Youth Leadership: The movement recognizes the crucial role of young people in achieving the SDGs. A4SD provides a platform for young leaders to be heard and contribute to global policy discussions.
- Promote Knowledge Sharing: A4SD facilitates the exchange of best practices, knowledge, and resources among civil society actors, ensuring a collaborative approach to achieving the SDGs.
Strength in Unity: Taking Action on a Global Stage
Our partnership with A4SD allows Step Up Youth Initiative to connect with a diverse network of civil society organizations worldwide. This collaboration enables us to:
- Amplify Youth Voices: We have a stronger voice on the global stage, advocating for youth inclusion in development efforts and influencing global policy agendas.
- Exchange Knowledge & Strategies: By learning from best practices around the world, we can further strengthen our youth empowerment initiatives in Uganda.
- Promote Collective Action: Working together with A4SD, we contribute to a more unified and impactful global civil society movement for sustainable development.
A4SD’s partnership with the United Nations SDGs Action Campaign provides a crucial platform for action. Since 2016, Step Up Youth Initiative has actively participated in the annual Global Week of Action for SDGs, held every September. This global mobilization week allows us to:
- Share Advocacy Messages: We reach a wider audience, raising awareness about critical issues and urging world leaders to accelerate progress towards the SDGs.
- Remind Leaders of Their Commitments: The Global Week of Action serves as a powerful reminder for governments to prioritize achieving the SDGs and address the most pressing challenges facing our planet.
